I have been part of the Governing Board since 2013 as a parent governor and have taken on the role of Chair over the past few years. I have two children that have/are attending St John's. My day job is working as a senior leader for a national charity supporting young people from low income backgrounds. I hope to use my skills and experience to support the whole school community to achieve our future aspirations and improve the outcomes for all children in the school.
I'm Gareth Thomas, the vicar for St John's church and a foundation governor for our school. It is a real pleasure to support our school both through my role as governor and as pastor, to care for both the staff and the children, as well as leading assemblies and services for them when we are able. My daughter did really well at St John's with both her academic and emotional needs being met by the school and it is great to see the school going from strength to strength.
I am the Headteacher governor for St. John’s CE Primary School. I have been the Headteacher for 12 years now and thoroughly enjoy the role. It is a privilege to work alongside colleagues, governors, parents, pupils and parish members and to see the school continue to thrive. My background is in education, having secured a Bachelor of Education at Chester College, affiliated to Liverpool University, over twenty years ago. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a teacher and absolutely love my role and the variety of work that I get to do.
I joined the governing body in September 2019 as a Foundation Governor. I am an Ordained Local Minister at St John's Pendlebury Church and have been involved with the school since 2013 when I helped to set up and run an after school club Jesus and Me (JAM Club), and also helped with assemblies. I look forward to giving whatever support I can as a governor.
I'm Gemma, one of the parent governors at St Johns. I joined the governors in July 2019 as I could see all the fantastic work and initiatives the school continue to invest effort into and I wanted to see where I could help. Both my children attend St Johns, with the eldest just finishing year 6.
I am Alaina, a parent governor at St Johns. I am new to the role as governor however I have over ten years experience as a primary school teacher in Trafford. I have a good understanding of the important role that governors have in making decisions to assist the running of schools. I hope to bring my skills, experience and knowledge of the curriculum to assist in any way I can to help drive standards forward at St Johns.
Hi, I’m Karen. I joined the governors because I want to support the school to be the best that it can be. I have a varied background, including digital learning, music, outdoor activities, wellbeing and health & safety. I have a keen interest in how technology can support and enhance education and hope that I will be able to use my experience to contribute to St Johns.
I’m Marilyn and I joined the governing body in December 2020 as a Foundation Governor. I am one of the wardens at St John the Evangelist, Pendlebury where I have also been an Authorised Lay Minister in worship for the last six years. I recognize that each child has different strengths but they should all strive to be the best they can be and a good education helps them to achieve that. I want to support the school in whatever way I can to ensure every child is given the opportunities and education they need.
I'm Megan and I have been on the Governing Body since September 2020. I am staff governor and have taught in lower key stage 2 at St. John's for 5 years. I joined the Governors as I am passionate about making positive changes to support our school and children. I also want to ensure that staff at St. John's have a voice and that their input and feedback is supported.
